We will also provide a few tips on how to choose the right laptop for your needs. So, whether you are a professional photographer or a gamer who wants to take their hobby to the next level, keep reading!

what is your budget?

The price range for laptops that are capable of both photo editing and gaming falls between $1000-2000. Is this within your budget? If not, you may want to consider purchasing a laptop with fewer capabilities. The most expensive laptop on the market today is the new Macbook Pro which starts at $2,499. If you have this kind of money to spend on a laptop, you will easily be able to afford one of the following options listed below. But if not, there are great alternatives!

how much storage do i need?

When it comes to storage space, photographers would benefit more from having an SSD (solid state drive) rather than an HDD (hard disk drive). An HDD is still great for storing your photos, but it won’t be as fast. A blazing fast SSD would make the whole photo editing process much faster and more efficient.

To store your games, however, you might want to consider an HDD because the speed isn’t that important for this type of usage. When it comes to laptops with both HDD and SSD options, I personally prefer having an SSD instead of a small capacity HDD in my laptop. This way I get all the benefits when using my laptop for photo editing (faster performance) but also have plenty of space left over after installing all my software for various games!

There are other things to look out for depending on how much storage you will need:

1- How many images will you be editing at one time?

2- Will you use the laptop mostly for light and casual usage or heavy and demanding editing sessions?

3- Do you prefer having a lot of storage space at your disposal, or do you prefer it to be quick and efficient?

This article is not intended to help photographers choose the right type of storage. However, we have covered this topic in detail over here. We even included a short video embedded! Read more:   best laptop for photo capture and best laptop for photo editing tips before making your next purchase.

which brand should i go with?

There are so many brands out there that offer excellent quality laptops these days. In fact, many companies have been competing for years now, which has helped lower the prices of their laptops tremendously. The most popular brands include Dell, Apple, Lenovo/ThinkPad and HP. The last two listed are known for producing high-quality laptops at a relatively lower price range.

Apple is a good choice if you want a laptop that will be easy to use but also receive much praise from your friends and family members when it comes to its aesthetics. Apple had some great ideas with their MacBooks in the past few years, but Microsoft had some interesting ideas as well – see my review on the Surface Book .

Dell isn’t really known amongst photographers because they focus more on affordable laptops rather than pricier ones with loads of features. But, they’ve come up with some great laptops this year (2017) which are now becoming more popular.

Lenovo/ThinkPad is my personal favorite when shopping for a laptop because the offer great specs at an affordable price point. They also have excellent service! And by that I mean their technicians will actually take the time to help you figure out what’s best suited for your needs.

These are just a few examples of how competitive this market has become. There are plenty of other companies out there that produce high-quality laptops, but these four brands seem to be the most recognized by professionals around the world. We can’t forget about Asus Zenbook or Acer Predator either – both are very popular amongst gamers who want to enjoy the smoothest, most fluid gaming experience.

So, if you’re wondering which brand to go with when it comes to buying your next laptop, just keep in mind that there are many options out there now! Dell is now making some fantastic laptops for photo editing and other professional use cases. Lenovo produces the well-known ThinkPad series that is both affordable yet extremely powerful at the same time. Asus Zenbook has been popular amongst designers who don’t want to spend a fortune on their new laptop but still want good quality materials (aluminum brushed chassis) and amazing specs (Intel i7 processor). All these companies make it easy for you by offering great financing options as well!

Just do your homework before jumping into any purchase because you might end up regretting it if you don’t spend enough time comparing different models and brands.

You can always trust me to help you with your purchase by offering my opinion on any laptop-related questions or concerns . My goal is to show you how a certain product can be beneficial depending on what type of use cases the user has in mind. Just let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you!
